The ceremony lawn, extensive gardens and breathtaking mountain views create a magical backdrop for your ceremony. There is a large patio with fish pond lined with weeping maples to enjoy post ceremony drinks and canapes.

Te Mahuru can accommodate weddings up to 100 people



The Lodge and front lawn are ideal for the reception, from sit downs dinners, to finger food to dancing the night away. There is also a larger weather backup venue on site  if needed. 

It is also a great space for a post wedding BBQ brunch.

Additional Information

Te Mahuru weddings work with to help you to achieve your vision of your perfect day.

  • We can accommodate around 100 wedding guests and sleep 19 people.  
  • All wedding packages come with three nights accommodation, the night before, the night of and the night after. This allows you time to relax with your guests and plenty of time to make this beautiful space your own.  This also gives you the ability to have a post wedding brunch with your guest without being hurried out the morning after.
  • There is space and hookups for caravans at a special request and will incur an additional fee.
  • You are welcome to bring whatever drinks and food you like.  We do not have a BYO fee, this could save you thousands. Te Mahuru provides a bar table and containers for ice
  • All glasses, plates, and cutlery are provided.  We do have some center piece items availability to use. If you would like to hire tables, chairs and linens please follow the party hire link above.   For smaller weddings you are welcome to use the tables and chairs we have on hand.           We kindly ask that there be no small decorative man-made items used on the tables as these end up in our gardens and lawns.
  • The cost of the wedding package:  Three nights accommodation $1340 per night total of $4020 for three nights.  FYI: guests normally pay for their own accomm, removing this cost from the bride & groom.  Use of the ceremony site, cocktail patio, main kitchen for spit roast prep and serving of canapes, use of the double long spit, lodge, reception lawn, lodge kitchen for  mains course prep and tidy up, and bar area is: Nov 1st to April 30th is $2700, and from May 1st to October 31st is $2000. Total wedding package cost of $6020 to $6,720
  • Set up and breakdown is the responsibility of the wedding party/planner. Jen will be on hand to help and ask questions to.
  • If you require toilets outside of the 6 bathrooms located in the suites, portaloo's can be hired from Kaikoura liquid waste at 027 437 5939 (recommended for weddings over 40 people)
  • You can check-in from 12pm and check-out is at 10am from the suites and cottage and 11am from the common areas.
  • For weddings on the lodge Lawns, please move the music inside the lodge by 12am. Any weddings using the "Hanger" please move the music inside the lodge by 11pm.
  • Suggested people to hire. 1: a wedding planner, they help you enjoy your day.  2: people to buss tables, wash up glass ware, clear rubbish etc, they help your guest enjoy your day too.
